Technology

Alice.org : Alice 2.0 is a computer programming environment designed to teach kids how to program using a unique drag and drop interface. The program is free, and very informative on getting started. The program is sponsered by Carnegie Mellon, and Professor Randy Pausch.
DigitalTrends.com : DigitalTrends.com is a great Techie site! They offer news, reviews and the like, but where they excel in my opinion is in the vast array of technology information they offer. This is an office favorite!
Microsoft Express : Everybody knows about Microsoft's website, but did you know you can download some of their software for free? Microsoft doesn't advertise this, but it is available for free! Explore your inner nerd….oohmmm…
NASA Image eXchange : This site has all of the NASA images from NASA's first days up until now. There are 5 different search criteria, not to mention categories to browse. The sheer number of images available is almost overwhelming. This site is great to just explore…(pun?)
Nation Science Foundation : The National Science Foundation (NSF) is an independent federal agency created by From their site: Congress in 1950 "to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; to secure the national defense…" This site is cool because everything here is cutting edge from Mathematics, Computer Science, to Social Sciences and more!
OldApps.com : One of the MOST useful sites on the web in my opinion! You can find all of the old apps here available for download, mostly free. This site has the older utilities, drivers, popular shareware… If you're a techie, bookmark this site for the future because I guarantee it that you'll need it.
SpeedTest.net : From the SpeedTest.net website: "Speedtest.net measures the performance of your broadband connection. At the end of each test, you are presented with the download (the speed of data from the server to your computer) and upload (the speed of sending data from your computer to the server) bandwidth speeds. The tests are performed completely within your web browser over HTTP (just like normal web browsing)."
ThinkGeek.com : Ok, so I normally don't like to put on this site "Top Level" websites, but I'll break from the norm for ThinkGeek. I love this site! If you are or know a Techie, Trekkie, or Cubical Squirrel, this site is for you. It has all of the funny, fun and smart toys and gifts that you could ask for. I have quite a few items from this site, and even when I'm not buying I come here just to look around. You should too!
